FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER: On this 5th week of Easter, we are called to see that our actions have consequences. Paul is shunned and feared by the Christian community, even though he had been called directly by Jesus as he was traveling to Damascus. His reputation as a mean and spiteful person preceded him. It took a lot of work and time to gain the confidence of the people that he was indeed a disciple of Christ. Last week we heard that Jesus is the Good Shepherd, and we are the sheep. We see in our first story that we often behave like sheep, shying away from the wolf they knew as Saul. But this week Jesus tells us that we are all part of the same vine. The vine of Jesus. We are all branches and need to come together, as we all belong to the same vine. As Jesus called Saul, he calls each of us to go forth and preach the good news. To be a part of his vine. We are to proclaim His Word at home, in the streets, at work, in the grocery store and anywhere else we may go! May each of us provide many new branches to the one vine of Jesus Christ! He is Risen! Alleluia!

BENEDICTION: We are offering exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction EVERY Sunday at 6 pm. The last Sunday of the month will be in SPANISH. Please join us for just a half hour of prayer, and worship of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament! We will meet in the Church. Pamphlets are available as you come in. Please participate in the singing and prayer. We look forward to seeing you there!

MAY IS THE MONTH OF MARY: We continue our book study in May with Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary by Brandt Pitre. If you are interested, please stop by the Faith Formation Office to pick up your book or contact Nicole at 505-340-0421 or ngarcia@n-bvm.org. We will begin the week of May 6th. Carmel and San Carlos cemeteries in preparation for the Memorial Day Service and Flag Display. If any parishioners need to clean their loved ones’ graves, please join us on Saturday, May 18th. We will start at 8 am. Please bring shovels, rakes, and anything necessary to clean the cemeteries. Thank you for your kindness!
